Engaging the Press

So the press release for “The Decision” went out last Thursday. Initial response has been favorable including a posting on AWN.com, which was posted last Friday. How grateful I am for the  few seasons of experience I’ve had sending out press releases for various clients as a web developer/volunteer as preparation for sending out my own.

What strikes me as interesting are the impressions and direction that I have received to not limit my audience to an LDS or Mormon demographic.  The circulation of my press release included major newspapers in several western states where LDS populations constitute a notable part of the population, but by no means a majority.  It still strikes me that I am limiting my audience and scope.
