I’ve just read this article where John Lasseter discusses Bolt. There’s a lot more here than just a film maker interview. Mr. Lasseter is discussing their company’s production model and the essential process of storyboarding in the film’s development to achieve the full emotional impact of storytelling. He also hits upon some other valuable points about animation entertainment in general.
I strongly admire Pixar’s rigorous production standards in this regard, and though I’ve not seen Bolt yet, it is on my list of films to see because of this standard.
